REVISED GUIDELINES FOR MASS from the Archdiocese of Washington and Montgomery County:
PASTORAL REFLECTION Deacon Don Longano
In our Gospel passage for this coming Sunday, Jesus compares the kingdom of God to the growth of seeds (Mark 4:26-34). The measured development of a tiny seed into a mature plant also provides us insight into our personal, lifelong spiritual development responding to God's grace. Christ reaches out to our hearts through the endless love that he showers upon us, and our response to that divine love allows us to grow in holiness.
CCD REGISTRATION FOR 2021-22 IS OPEN

STEWARDSHIP CORNER
Poor Box – Donations during June will be for the Little Sisters of the Poor, who serve in 30 countries. The Order was founded in 1839 by St. Jeanne Jugan. Locally, they provide for the daily needs of the elderly poor men and women in their care -- safe-shelter, a comfortable and loving home, clothing, nutritious food, enriching activities and medical and nursing care. Saint as Model Stewards – Only one saint is on the Church's calendar this week. On Saturday we commemorate St. Romuald (d. 1027), a Benedictine hermit, who was committed to a life of prayer and solitude. Although we are not hermits, we, as Christian stewards of the time God has given us, should make quality time available for prayer, spiritual reading and reflection. Please seriously consider putting aside some time each day during your summer vacation to nurture your interior lives. Participation at daily Mass would be a superb addition to your routine. How shall I make a return to the Lord for all the good He has done for me?
Graduation Time – We offer our congratulations and best wishes to this year's graduates. We pray that they will use the academic knowledge they have acquired to good use as Christian stewards!
"For I know well the plans I have in mind for you … plans for your welfare and not for woe, so as to give you a future of hope. When you call me, and come and pray to me, I will listen to you. When you look for me, you will find me. Yes, when you seek me with all your heart, I will let you find me…and I will change your lot." (Jeremiah 29:11-14) |
