SPECIAL EDITION Thursday, June 18, 2020 RESUMPTION OF PUBLIC MASS
The Church of the Little Flower will be reopened this Saturday, June 20, in time for the 5 pm Mass.
The seriousness of this pandemic, however, dictates that we follow strict guidelines and important safety measures. Please carefully read the guidelines HERE.
Occupancy restrictions are set for a maximum 30 percent of capacity with social distancing. Masks are required to be worn. Please arrive early as seating is first come, first served. Dispensation from the Sunday and Holy Day obligation remains in effect. Many options are available for participating in Mass when we cannot be present at the liturgy. View the Archdiocese of Washington list of live-streamed (and recorded) Masses and Prayers.

STEWARDSHIP CORNER Today we honor fathers, who are entrusted by God with the loving care and stewardship of their children. The Little Flower parish community offers them our prayers and best wishes. May St. Joseph, the perfect paternal model, intercede for our fathers. And let us not forget our priests today! "Our parents begot us by blood and the will of the flesh, but priests make us children of God; blessed regeneration, true freedom, and adoption according to grace." (St. John Chrysostom, Doctor of the Church) May the saints whom we commemorate next week inspire us to employ our own God-given talents and opportunities as He would have us do. Monday is also the memorial of St. Paulinus (d. 431), a retired lawyer who gave away most of his wealth to take up a monastic lifestyle, and to set up a hospice to care for the sick and house pilgrims to the shrine of St. Felix. After the death of his wife, he was called upon to be Bishop of Nola (Italy), where he used his considerable talents in the service of the Lord. Saturday - St. Cyril of Alexandria (d. 444), the outspoken and forceful bishop, who at the Council of Ephesus defended Mary's status as Mother of God and condemned Nestorianism, a heresy that eroded the doctrine of the Incarnation. May we too put our best gifts at the service of God.
