Holy Week & Easter 2020 My dear Parishioners,
Our Lenten journey this year has been unlike any other. As the joy of Easter Sunday approaches, however, we are constantly reminded of the fragility of our circumstances and our overwhelming need for the love and grace of God.
I pray that you and your family and friends are weathering this pandemic and that you are healthy and safe. Many of our brothers and sisters, here and around the world, are fighting this battle now and our thoughts and prayers go out to them in heartfelt unity. We are all in this together.
The lack of public Masses these past few weeks has given us all a stark reminder of our need for the Eucharist and our need to be close to Christ in a special way during the celebration of the Mass. I urge you to meditate on these needs, to pray regularly, perhaps a daily rosary, and to place your faith and trust in God. God loves us. He has a plan for each and every one of us and the joy of His Resurrection reminds us, we trust, that we will all someday share fully in His triumph.
In the meantime, I hope you will keep my brother priests and me in your prayers and that you will continue your Lenten journey in these days before Easter with a renewed sense of purpose. In our efforts to stay connected to you and to provide import updates, we will continue to send our parish eNewsletters and videos.
Your time, talent and treasure are still needed, perhaps now more than ever. Your generosity during the current health crisis is very much appreciated. Help someone in need, share your skills and resources where you can and give what you can to our parish and to the needy. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
Wishing you a blessed Easter and 50 days of Easter, I remain prayerfully yours, Monsignor Peter J Vaghi Pastor
