Tour Guides Needed - Please help!

Seeking a few volunteers to assist us

on Weds. Dec 12 from 8:30-9:30 am

We have many people asking to visit before the January Open House.  To minimize classroom disruptions from frequent tours we're clustering multiple visitors on the morning of 12/12.   If you are able to do a quick building tour that morning, please email Linda.

Holiday Gifting to Building Staff

Each Christmas the school families gift our priests and the four members of our school building staff  with a monetary token of appreciation.  If you would like to take part in this, kindly send in a donation by Fri, Dec 14.  May we please ask that you not send a check but rather enclose cash in an envelope marked "Gifting."   A donation in any amount is appreciated and you may certainly make your gift anonymously if you wish.  Thank you.

HANBOOK HIGHLIGHT

UNIFORMS

All parents and students are asked to review the LFS uniform policies.  It is expected that all students will be in full uniform at all times according to the dress code of the school.

At school we will work on keeping shirts tucked in if you can help us with keeping bright colored socks, nail polish and non-uniform sweatshirts at home!  Sneakers/athletic-style shoes are to be worn only on a student's PE days. (exception: PreK who should be in sneakers every day)

And please, please, PLEASE, ensure that every article of clothing is labeled.  We can keep items out of the lost-and-found box - but only if we know where to return them!

A few students have been coming to school with Heelies wheeled sneakers.  These are a safety concern for the school building/playground.  Please ensure these stay at home.

CHRISTMAS CONCERT

Please be certain to read the details sent home earlier this week.  Students in Grade K-8 have been diligently rehearsing to bring you a wonderful performance.  Their joyful participation is their gift to all of us.

We are already hearing about cases of the flu in our community. Flu comes on quickly and sometimes young children cannot articulate exactly what they are feeling. Some parents mistake the flu for a stomach bug because unlike adults, children with the flu can have nausea, stomach pain, and vomiting. Additional symptoms may include a fever, dry cough, head and body aches, sore throat, and extreme tiredness. During particularly bad flu seasons, every fever should be considered seriously and diagnosed by a doctor, if possible. Please be alert to your child's descriptions when he/she doesn't feel well and understand if we contact you with concerns. We monitor for fever and symptoms but often must take children at their word when they say they don't feel well enough to focus in school. At that point we will contact you and appreciate your full cooperation in determining if your child is well enough to remain in school.

O Loving God,
During this holy season of Christmas, we ask for your blessing on our families.  Let Mary's openness to your wondrous ways be an inspiration to place all trust in you.  Let Joseph's courage provide hope during times of uncertainty.  Let Jesus' life ignite all families with a spirit of light and love.  May the grace that encircled the holy family widen to embrace all families.  For this we pray. Amen.

We ask the Little Flower School community to hold our families in prayer throughout the year.

During the week of December 10th please pray especially for the

Burke, Covington, Friedman, King, Mirkow, Schumacher, and Wallace families
