| PASTORAL REFLECTION Msgr Peter J Vaghi |
The celebration of this Sunday's Solemnity, that of the Most Holy Trinity, draws us personally into the very mystery of God. It is the rich mystery of God Himself, the mystery of one God in three Persons – Father, Son and Holy Spirit – each fully God. Each one of us is baptized in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We are reminded of this fundamental truth of our Faith each time we make the Sign of the Cross in prayer as we invoke the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. |

| STEWARDSHIP Poor Box – Donations during June will go to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul which, in a spirit of justice and charity, seeks to help the "least among us" through direct personal involvement. We are all familiar with the great work done by the Society at the grass-roots level. What should we give? Christ's answer was echoed by St. Vincent de Paul in one word – more. He was referring not only to Treasure but also to our Time and Talents – to do more, more than we thought we could do. |

June is dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus Prayer of St. John Eudes to the Sacred Heart of Jesus: "O Heart all lovable and all loving of my Savior, be the Heart of my heart, the soul of my soul, the spirit of my spirit, the life of my life and the sole principle of all my thoughts, words and actions, of all the faculties of my soul, and of all my senses, both interior and exterior. Amen." |

Stewardship of Time - Summer vacations are a time of physical, mental and spiritual renewal. Please consider joining "the silent army of Catholics" (to quote our pastor) who attend daily Mass, hear the Word, receive the Body of Christ, pray and reflect – doing so in memory of Him. There will be two Masses during the summer on Monday through Friday, at 8:15 and noon, in the church. What a wonderful way to spend your time. Saints as Model Stewards - The Church commemorates only one saint this week – and what saint he was! Monday is the memorial of St. Anthony of Padua (d. 1231), Doctor of the Church. Although many seek his help in finding lost things, this gentle and persuasive preacher was far more interested in finding lost souls. St. Anthony, help me to find my gift – that "language" in which I can speak most convincingly of God's love – and use it in His service. (Paraphrased with permission from "Steward Saints for Every Day.") "Life is short, death is certain, and the world to come is everlasting." Saint John Henry Newman |
