Uniforms

We strive to encourage our students to take pride in their appearance. Our uniform dress code helps them to focus on what is appropriate attire for school and reflects the identity, unity, and spirit of our school.

Uniforms are to be worn beginning the first day of school. It is expected that all students comply with the school's uniform dress code. Students who come to school without the correct uniform or fail to comply with the uniform policies at any time during the school day will receive a uniform infraction notice and may be required to change into a proper uniform provided by the administration.

Non-uniform apparel (hoodies, branded sweatshirts/fleeces, scarves, hats, etc.) may only be worn during recess and dismissal. Students who fail to remove these items at the start of class will be considered in violation of the uniform policy and will receive an infraction notice.

Uniform infraction notices must be signed by a parent and returned the next day. Persistent non-compliance with the uniform policy will be treated as a disciplinary matter that could result in a detention or further disciplinary action.

The appearance of any young person is the responsibility of the student and the parents. Girls’ skorts and jumpers are to be no shorter than 2” above the knee. Shirts must be tucked in at all times. T-shirts worn under the uniform shirt should be plain white.

EXCEPTIONS TO DRESS CODE

  • “Free Dress Days” or “Tag Days” – On these occasions, students are still expected to wear clothing that is suitable for school. No crop tops, tank tops, flip-flops, ripped jeans, short shorts, or short skirts are allowed. We rely on the support and encouragement of our parents in seeing that this expectation is met. Note: This list is not exhaustive. The school’s administration reserves the right to determine whether an outfit is appropriate for “Free Dress Days” or “Tag Days”.
  • “Spirit Days” – On these special occasions, the dress code will be specified based on the event.
  • Scout uniforms may be worn on the day of their meeting, if the meeting takes place immediately after school.

GENERAL EXPECTATIONS FOR APPEARANCE

It is expected that students will always maintain a type of appearance and personal hygiene that is not distracting to teachers and other students. Uniform shirts must be pressed and tucked in. All uniform pieces are to be clean and not stained or torn.

  • Daily shoes are to be low-top sneakers that are white, navy, grey, or any combination of only those colors. No wheels or lights on sneakers.
  • On First Friday Mass days, field trips, and special events, students must wear appropriate dress or rubber-soled school shoes, such as bucks, loafers, saddle oxfords, or Mary Janes.
  • Boots, canvas, Sanuk, Hey Dude, or Tom's-style shoes are not considered dress shoes.
  • Low-cut (below ankle) or no-show socks are never permitted with the school or gym uniform.
