Standardized Test Results

Scantron Performance Series

Standardized testing is one of the many tools the Archdiocese of Washington (ADW) Catholic schools uses to measure our students' mastery of important concepts and skills. The name of the standardized test used by the ADW is Performance Testing by Scantron; commonly referred to as Scantron. The primary purpose of this testing is to improve students' learning and teachers' teaching by identifying both strengths and areas of improvement.

The Scantron Performance Series is an adaptive, computer-based diagnostic tool administered to students in Grades 2 through 8 twice a year. We administer both Math and Reading tests in the fall and spring. Scantron testing provides instant data measuring achievement in reading, language arts, word analysis, vocabulary, language mechanics, spelling, mathematics, and mathematics computation. This dataprovides our teachers with information specific to each student as well as the class as a whole. Test results are also sent home to parents.
